After a little tidying up

Story of the exhibit

The bicycle previously belonged to the donor's uncle Endel Sikk (from Rõngu): Endel Sikk remembers: "At the Rõngu 8-grade school there was a group of boys interested in cycling who went to Elva (15 km) for 'training' with coach Kalmus of the sports school. After all, in Endel Ruubel we had our own cycling celebrity! My son Raivo was also interested in training, and as a 6th-grader in 1969 he bought the bicycle with money earned working summers at the hay meal mill, nicknaming it 'Võidukas' (Victorious). He kept training until he finished school in Rõngu, competing in school and Elva Sports School races, going on cycling trips and so on. The last rides my son made as a student of the Võru Industrial Technical School, riding to a friend's in Otepää – that is, almost 10 years of regular riding. 'Võidukas' was finally retired around 1999–2000. The odometer was fitted later, so you can add a couple of hundred kilometres to the current reading."
