Convoy of Curious Vehicles, 2 August 2014
Story of the exhibit
The vehicle was built by hunters of the Paide KEK (inter-farm construction organisation), using body parts from various Moskvitch models and a GAZ-67 engine; it was even registered as a Moskvitch. It was used mainly for going hunting. The car came into the possession of Mr Jüri Lumi years ago, when the previous owner asked him to arrange its sale for scrap. Luckily for us, the new owner liked this unusual vehicle so much that he decided to use it instead. According to him it was a nice machine for roaming the woods, its only drawback being the lack of front-wheel drive. It has stood for the last couple of years because of a clutch fault. There were plans to remove the engine for a tractor, but that idea came to nothing. Luckily for us, the owner could not bring himself to scrap such a vehicle either, and so we can now see this distinctive vehicle at the Old Tech Park. The Järva-Jaani Old Tech Park thanks the following Auto-Moto forum members for their donations: Argo Ellisson, Silver Kuik, Peeter Tiisväli, Kristo Pals, Meelis Tamm, Raigo Klütsnik, Mati Räli, Veljo Hecht, Madis Lobjakas and Rainer Põld.
