About the model

Production years: 1959–76 (BTR-60 series) A four-axle amphibious armoured personnel carrier. The vehicle was developed in the mid-1950s at the GAZ plant under V. Dedkov as a replacement for the BTR-152 and went into production in 1959 at GAZ's Arzamas branch, which built military equipment. Over 17 years more than 10,000 of these armoured vehicles were built. The clutch is single-plate, and each engine has its own gearbox. For moving in water there is a water-jet mechanism at the rear of the hull.
