Story of the exhibit
A bus with 20+1 seats built in Bulgaria on the basis of the Avia A31 truck. As far as is known, two such buses came to Estonia in the late 1980s; this one went to the Narva sports school, the other to the Kohtla-Järve chemical combine. A legend goes with the bus: on a trip to Minsk with Narva hockey players, the Avia engine's connecting rod broke at the destination, but with the help of the driver's relative living there the bus was converted in 9 hours to an MTZ-80 tractor engine and ZiL gearbox. The previous owner acquired the bus in 2000 because of the MTZ engine; in the vehicle register the bus is listed as an Avia-Ikarus 543.26! Brought to the Old Tech Park from Sämi in Lääne-Viru County.
