Story of the exhibit
A small British-built tractor that came to Estonia (Sadala in Jõgeva County) in the first half of the 1990s and from then on did most of the work needed on the farm – it pulled a two-furrow plough, cultivated, sowed, spread fertiliser, sprayed pesticide and hauled grain from the field. A front loader can also be fitted, but it has not yet been brought to the Old Tech Park. The machine's technical condition is satisfactory. The engine has been replaced, which may have been caused by breaking the local tractor speed records – with both range boosters engaged the tractor did 70 km/h. Known faults include a leaking water pump, a toothed belt off one booster, and instead of the hydraulic pump inside the gearbox, a pump driven from the crankshaft by a V-belt is used. The filter of the gearbox pump simply clogged too quickly with all sorts of metal and other debris, and it was easier to fit another pump with a separate tank. The tractor's active use ended about 15 years ago, when somewhat more serious machinery such as a T-40 and an MTZ-82 arrived on the farm.
