Story of the exhibit

A main rescue vehicle with bodywork by the Dutch coachbuilder Ajax/de Boer. With the crew compartment integrated into the bodywork, the vehicle carries 6 rescuers including the driver; it has a 2000-litre water tank and a pump made by Ziegler. The vehicle originally served in the Netherlands with the Groningen city fire brigade under call sign Groningen 741. In 1995 it was given to the then Tallinn Fire and Rescue Board and was at first the first main vehicle of the City Centre rescue station. After the arrival of the new Scania-based main vehicles "Kärmas Katariina", from 1997 to 2008 it was the second and third main vehicle first of the City Centre and later of the Lilleküla station, and at the end of the 2000s briefly also the reserve vehicle of the Keila station. Due to wear and the acquisition of new rescue equipment it became surplus at the Rescue Board; in 2011 it was transferred to the Mustjala voluntary fire brigade, but it was not on active duty there and was used only briefly for service work on Saaremaa. For more than the last 10 years the vehicle stood unused in Mustjala, but it remained more or less complete.
