About the model
Production years: 1967–1996
The JerAZ-762 van was based on GAZ-21/24 units and RAF know-how (its body is a RAF-977 converted into a van). It went into production in 1967, when the Yerevan Automobile Plant was given the documentation for the van version of the Riga plant's RAF-977, which had never reached series production. With few changes, the model stayed on the assembly line until the mid-1990s, in its last years also as flatbed and combi versions.
Because of its poor build quality and durability, the vehicle was widely nicknamed "the Armenian people's revenge on the Soviet Union".
