Ford Motor Company
Country: Michigan, USA
City: Dearborn
Ford Motor do Brasil S.A. was founded on 24 April 1919 as a subsidiary of the US carmaker Ford Motor Company. In the early years Ford T-series cars and Ford TT-series trucks were imported from the USA as kits for assembly in Brazil. Brazilian Ford became a manufacturer rather than an assembly plant in 1957, when production of the Ford F-600 series trucks began (F-600 pick-up truck). The Ford F-600 built in Brazil was very similar to the F-100 truck then in production in the USA. The F-600 rolled off the line with a 272 hp V8 engine, and 40% of the truck's parts were made in Brazil.
