It went into series production as the MAZ-543A in 1967. Besides flatbeds, used mainly by the army and oil producers, cranes were mounted on its chassis and fire engines were built on it. The designation MAZ-7310 was given in 1974 after some modernisation; other versions besides the base model were the MAZ-7410 tractor unit, the MAZ-7510 tipper, the MAZ-7910 pipe carrier and the KS-5573 truck crane. The model was replaced in 1983 by the MAZ-7313 series.
