A fire tanker built on the GAZ-66 truck, with a crew of 2. Made at the Vargashi Fire and Special Equipment Plant. The water tank holds 1600 l; it uses a PN-40 UA fire pump.

The decision to build the Gorky Automobile Plant near Nizhny Novgorod was taken by the Supreme Council of the National Economy on 4 March 1929; construction began on 2 May 1930, and in January 1932 production of the GAZ-A car and GAZ-AA truck began there, based on Ford-A and Ford-AA drawings.
